Hi allA very important read from our governing body.Stay safe everyone!Kind RegardsJohn Simons - 2nd DanWhite Tiger Tae Kwon-Do – WebmasterLETTER FROM A SENIOR INSTRUCTOR, ALSO A PARAMEDICAs an ambulance paramedic I see the whole impact of the Covid-19 and the devastation it has to those infected and their families. From the elderly to the young, the vulnerable to the very fittest of people, this virus doesn’t pick its targets. We are all at risk. This is why face coverings and social distancing, along with staying at home, are our best defences. The vaccine won’t stop us from catching it but will make the symptoms less severe. As we all know, when training we breathe heavier and therefore our breath travels further at a more intense rate. I have worked with people who have no symptoms and feel fine, but then test positive. This is the reason for staying at home; if you only mix with your household, then only they are at risk from you, and you from them.We all want things to return to normal. However, if we don’t stick to the lockdown rules and beat the virus, then we will never get back to training and some sort of normality. We all need to understand that this is a changing virus that is very infectious. It is sadly fatal to so many, and leaves life changing conditions to many normally healthy people who recover from it. Many of my colleagues has fallen ill with the virus caught through helping other, which is what we signed up for and we ain't complaining, unfortunately too many have sadly passed away all over the country in all health boards of the NHS. I personally have friends who will never work again due to the life changing illness they have been left with after recovering from Covid-19.Many of us will be infected and have no symptoms, this is the nature of this virus and the way it is spreading rapidly. Along with my colleagues now daily, we go into so many houses that have at least one person tested positive with their family and friends still not social distancing or wearing face coverings. Households who have more than one person infected and they think it’s okay to be in the same room because they are already positive, they are then upset because we tell them they are not social distancing and need to stay isolated in their own homes apart from each other. The virus works differently on all of us and the information is clear.Face coverings,Avoid crowded place,Clean hands and surfaces regularly,Stay 2 metres from other people, Self-isolate and book a test if you have COVID-19 symptoms (new continuous cough, fever, or loss of, or change in smell or taste)NHS staff are having to stay at home due testing positive or forced to isolate ( our families have to isolate as well ), this is leaving all NHS services with reduced numbers of staff and under stress trying to cope with demand. We are doing our best and will continue to do so until we can all get back to doing what we are waiting for.I am only an Ambulance Paramedic working on the front line of Accident and Emergency and in no way claim to be an expert on the virus, this is only a personal view of my experience.I know many of our Martial Arts friends are having to make huge sacrifices during this time, but better to stay healthy and be able to return to teaching and training in the future, Unfortunately I think it’s going to be some time yet as this virus is relentless in its spread, we are losing the battle just now, but with everyone's help, we can beat ths.Stay safe and well and help protect your NHS, you may need us some day.Rab Angus 6th Dan, Ronin Karate Club...#covid19UK #coronavirusUK #martialartsforall #martialarts #nakmasngb #nakmas ...
